About the blog 📝
Kyrios Christos is Greek for “Christ the Lord”. This blog aims to offer biblical teachings based on sound doctrine and point to solid biblical resources. It also aims to reflect on the spiritual movements, heresies and spiritual abuses that creep into the Church and disguise themselves as Christianity.
Kyrios Christos is essentially an informative and educational blog, calling for spiritual discernment. It is here to encourage us to grow in our knowledge of the Word of God, to discern and discard false beliefs, and to return to the true knowledge of Christ.
Primarly written in English, the aim is to reach out to the French-speaking world by offering content in French as much as possible.
About the writer 👩🏻💻
My name is Audrey, welcome to my blog! Naturally investigative, I have a certain intellectual curiosity and enjoy doing in-depth research -not just internet stuff, I do read! I love studying God's Word, and I'm also particularly interested in schools of thought, spiritual movements, their roots, and effects in the light of God's Word. I find it fascinating to observe the origins of beliefs and doctrines, the influence of and correlation between human behavior and spirituality, and comparing them with Christianity.
So, I don't hold a PhD (somewhere would dream of!), but I do seek knowledge...
My story 📜
Well, there’s a story and a motive behind the desire for blogging...
My upbringing was very much on an emotionally vulnerable and unstable side of things. I was a lost sheep! So, I dabbled into the occult (mainly astrology) during my youth, looking for an identity and guidance. But thankfully, I came to Christ in my early twenties. Being still young and vulnerable, I found myself “locked in” to an ultra-charismatic, neo-apostolic (or NAR) sectarian, church system, centered around one so-called anointed man, originally from Nigeria. Without realizing it, it quickly became an experience from which it's hard to escape. In the end, I was there for a total of 10 years. It was a difficult time, not only because of the spiritual and mental manipulation and control, but also because of the unfamiliar Nigerian culture. Probably one of the biggest challenges was mixing the culture with the (false) teachings. That's not to say that I didn't learn anything or that God wasn't at work, because He was. But if He allowed a season, He also found a way out.
By His grace, the Lord used a set of circumstances and freed me from this church system. But it took another seven years to break free from the mental and spiritual bondage. I devoted myself to seeking answers by studying the Bible and other Christian resources. I discovered the teachings of Reformed Christianity which aligned with my new comprehension of the Bible. I felt set free from many lies and finally came to terms with the reality of the deceit and the spiritual manipulation coming from this Hyper Charismatic church system and the false Christian movement it belongs to. This was a very painful, but necessary, reality check. The Lord used it for my good and for His glory. I eventually gained greatly! Hence, there’s much for me to share on a blog like this. My Profile 👩🏻
I started my first Christian blog in 2007, a couple of years after I was saved. But obviously, I wasn't spreading the right doctrines...! I had to give it up and start from scratch (twice) over!
Until recently, I've been a website content manager, editor and intermittent author at bibliorama.org, and have provided proofreading and English-to-French translation of Christian resources, including for Ilt’aime. I am part of a French reformed online Bible school, formation Didachè, focusing on teaching sound doctrine through systematic theology and church history, which has been a tremendous blessing.
On a personal note, married with three beautiful children, I'm originally from France and have lived in the UK for over 20 years!
But my profile means nothing if I fail to point out the most important thing: I'm just a sinner, saved by Grace, and without Christ, I can do nothing.
