Deism
A term used to refer to the views of a group of English writers, especially at the time of 17th century rationalism, which anticipated many of the ideas of the Enlightenment. The term Deism is often used to refer to a view of God which recognises the divine creatorship, yet which rejects the notion of a continuous divine involvement with the world. In deistic thought, reason leads to the Supreme God.
