Postmodernism

Postmodernism is a philosophy that claims there is no objective or absolute truth, particularly in matters of religion and spirituality. Truth is relative to an individual’s belief.

The term “postmodernism” means “after modernism” and refers to the period (i.e. our current era) that comes after the age of “modernism” (the early 20th century). Postmodernism is a general cultural development, especially in North America, which resulted from the general rejection of absolutes and rational principles of the Enlightenment, where human reason prevailed.
